PALE ALE

Pale Ale is an English style of beer which has been adopted by Califomia and northwestern brewers. The theory behind a Pale Ale is a balance of malty sweetness, and hoppy bitterness. The English versions are soft, malty and not as bitter as their American counterparts. The American pale ales are darker, hoppier, and more bitter than the English pale ales. In general, American pale ales are "bigger" beers. The FBC Pale Ale is a cross between these two styles. The caramelized malt tones and the lower carbonation levels are in the English style, and the bitterness and color are more American. The aroma is derived from a blend of British hops, which gives the beer a fine rounded aroma. The British hops are far less assertive than their American counterparts, which lead to a more agreeable aroma profile for a British Pale Ale.
