INDIA PALE ALE India Pale Ale is a style of beer which became popular in England in the late Eighteenth and Nineteenth centuries. When England colonized India, beer that was shipped to the soldiers often arrived in poor condition. So, beer was brewed with a generous amount of hops to bitter the beer, and then given another heavy dose during fermentation or conditioning, which gives the beer a strong hop aroma. Hops naturally inhibit the growth of bacteria in beer, and therefore our IPA has a clean fresh finish to it. Another preservative quality of an IPA is it's higher alcohol content. Our IPA has an alcohol content of around 6.5%. The IPA is dry and crisp (especially for a higher alcohol beer) and is lighter in color than the Pale Ale. We brew this beer year-round, except during the Holiday Strong Ale season. Back to the Beer Index
