BEST BITTER

This is an English style ale with a clean crisp flavor and amber color. The English call this beer "Bitter" because it is lighter in malt flavor than most pale ales. With the low amount of malt in this beer, the hops take over and give a distinctive bitter flavor to the beer. A Pale Ale and a Best Bitter have nearly the same amount of hops in them, but the Best Bitter has a stronger bitter flavor due to the lack of malt flavor in it. The technical name of this style beer is "Bitter." English breweries have a beer titled "Best Bitter," which implies it is slightly stronger than an ordinary "Bitter." FBC Best Bitter uses all English hops. It is served via a nitrogen dispense system which creates a firm head of smaller bubbles. This allows us to serve the beer with a lower amount of CO2 and thus the flavor of the beer is not dominated by gas tingle on the tongue. In spite of the name, this beer is not as bitter as some others, such as IPA.
